Pasquale Claudio Africa is an Assistant Professor in Numerical Analysis at the International School for Advanced Studies (SISSA) in Trieste (Italy) since March 2023. He received his Ph.D. in “Mathematical Models and Methods in Engineering” from Politecnico di Milano in 2019.
His research focuses on developing innovative computational methods and algorithms to solve complex mathematical problems in science and engineering. He has authored and co-authored several papers on a variety of topics, including numerical methods for partial differential equations, mathematical modeling of the human heart, and scientific computing.
Currently, his research interests include numerical modeling of multiphysics problems, high-performance computing, reduced order models, machine learning, and technologies for digital twins. He is actively involved in the development of open-source software for scientific computing, and has contributed to several widely-used software packages.
