Statistical Learning for Epidemiology

Learning Goals

At the end of the course the student will have developed a general knowledge of the application of statistical methods to biomedical and epidemiological research.

Introduction to epidemiology and risk measures. The use of statistical methods in the biomedical and epidemiological field for the design and analysis of randomized controlled clinical trials and observational studies. The various study designs. Explanatory and Prognostic Regression models in epidemiology. The Propensity Score approach in epidemiological and clinical studies. Introduction to Survival analysis. Notes on the use of machine learning methods in epidemiology.
